Why do you race?   I love being outside and I especially love challenging myself to experience life in a way that I don’t normally experience it.

How did you come to AR?  Through my husband Shane.  His passion for the sport rubbed off on me.

How did you come to THWT?  Again, through my husband.  He created the team in 2007.  I will never forget the early days of his racing and being part of his race support team.

What do you like about THWT?  Why do you stay?  I love the people!  I stay because each and every person inspires me to be a better person.  They are an amazing family that is committed to making the world and the outdoors a better place.

Something you’ve learned through AR that you take with you beyond the race course?  Our bodies are much more capable than we give them credit for.  You are the only one that limits yourself.

What does the future hold for you and AR?  Shared experiences with amazing teammates.  Pushing myself beyond my limits.  Establishing a future where I can grow old with my husband as we seek out adventures around the world!

Specialty?  Positive attitude and dedication

Favorite piece of gear?  Anything Smartwool!!

Favorite race/event that you’ve participated in and why?  My first race with my husband when he tried out his first tow system on his bike.  We were going way too fast down a gravel hill.  I was on tow and started swinging behind him.   The tow system got caught in my bike.  This resulted in me wiping out and getting dragged behind Shane on the gravel.  He jumped off his bike and went running over to me.  The poor guy was scared to death.  I was scraped up with a bunch of gravel stuck in me and a black eye!  We went back to our transition area and he started to clean up my cuts and said, well, it was a good race.  I said, “What?  We’re not done racing!”  The look on his face was priceless.
