2007 Teamhalfwaythere.com 3rd in the HRA 2007 Series.

-29 September 2007- 3rd in our division and 4th overall at the Storm the Eastern Shore; a grueling HRA race race billed as a 24-30 hour event.  We beat some well known sponsored teams in the process.  This was a 100 plus mile race along the Cape Charles VA coast and another Hampton Roads Adventures event. It can be viewed at: www.hradventure.com.

-30 September 2007 - Injuries!! Venture Quest - A Long Sprint Adventure Race (Sport Level), 28-35 miles, 5-9 hours, at Fountainhead Regional Park, VA. The segments were trekking, paddling, mountain biking, and navigation.  This race conflicted with the 29 September race. However, we had built the team to a level that Team Halfway There competed in both races!  Unfortunately, as Barry was pushing the pace on the last mountain biking segment, he took a bad spill and managed  to dislocate his shoulder.  Although he wanted to finish the race, his day was over.

- July 21st 2007- Second Place, Military Class, 29th Overall, Odyssey One Day Adventure Race Roanoke,  VA.  This was a 24 hour race, covering 75 to 90 miles.  We netted an official finish despite encountering numerous obstacles, and terrible luck!  The race included Trekking/Trail Running, Mountain Biking, Paddling (slow moving & flatwater) and Navigation/Orienteering.

-June 27th 2007- Fourth Place, 12 Hours of Cranky Monkey!  Team Halfway There completed the 12 Hours of Cranky Monkey Mountain Bike Race, finishing fourth in the beginner class.  The race was a blast and we once again found ourselves being pushed to our limits.   We'd like to extend our special thanks to Eastern
Mountain Sports for all their help with our success in our first mountain bike-only race.

-June 9th 2007- Untamed Virginia.  Our second showing was the Untamed Virginia on 9 June.  This was a 30 hour, 100 plus mile race. We completed, finished the official/pro course, and took 18th out of 46 teams. The website of the race is www.untamedva.com. This will take you to final race results, and provide a list of some of our competitors (Team Hummer, Outside.com, etc.)

-April 29th 2007- Tidewater Traverse. Our first adventure race was the Tidewater Traverse at the end of April. This was an 18 hour race, starting at 9:00 PM! It was a great learning experience, and Hampton Road Adventures put on an excellent event.

Our first year of racing, and we finished third overall in the series in the our class -  2/3/4 person male category.  YES!!!!  The series standings were based on the results from the Tidewater Traverse, Untamed Virginia, and the Storm the Eastern Shore.
